The site belongs to the Temple of Metamorphosis Sotiros in Plaka and it is a corner plot with an area of 196 sq.m, with a buckling, ground floor building within.The High Priest wished to develop a multi-storey building, to house social services of his parish, including a Nursery, Multipurpose Hall for exhibitionsa and lectures, Library with a Café and a Reading Room, Accommodation facilities in the recess to the 3rd floor of the building, Roof Outdoor events and underground parking.These uses are distributed as follows:
The ground floor is occupied by the Library (123, 65 sq.m.) and the first floor by the Nursery School (102.82 sq.m.). On the second floor is the Multipurpose and lecture hall (102.82 sq.m.) and finally in the recess Hospitality Apartments are located (83.32 sq.m.). The entrance of the building is at the corner of the plot and a corridor leads to a protected courtyard where the staircase and the elevator are located. Access to the Library is directly from the sidewalk.
The building’s morphology borrows elements paying homage to the Architecture of past decades and creates its own special identity in the urban environment of Athens.
