During the period 1970-1975 as an Associate in the Architectural office of the Architect P. C. Humblet in Brussels, Yannos Yanniotis co-operated with the team that undertook, among other projects, the architectural study for the new Catholic University of Louvain in La Neuve.
The buildings were set in the General Land-Planning Design of the University, evolving in the fringes of the city, in accordance with the spirit of Campus and included both the Humanitarian & Natural Sciences Faculties as well as the Library, the Student Hearths, other service infrastructures, and the Surroundings in order that the complex can function autonomously.
P.C.Humblet office had the responsibility of compiling the files of Architectural Studies for the Mathematical & Physics Faculty and part of Student Hearths that were developed per team inside the urban web. The Architectural style serves the principals of Modernism which was the major artistic wave during 70’s.
The project so much as for the morphology of buildings with the frugal expression of volumes, the appointment of their structural elements with the sovereign use of visible concrete, the obvious stonework, the wooden frames, the tile roofs, what with the choice of natural materials of coating by stone or ceramic tiles in its pedestrian streets and squares, is harmonized in the natural environment that encompasses the Campus.
